The Mirror of Truth
It's been said that once upon a time in a far far away land there was a mighty king. He was as strong and powerful as it could be, he was a kind worrier and a brave man.
After many year at the mercy of the luxuries of the palace the king had gotten lazy, fat and full of pains and aches.
One fine morning as he got up with his pains and aches he looked in the mirror and could not recognize himself back.
He called up all the ministers and requested an answer, "Who is this person in the mirror, that is not me, why is this mirror not reflecting me properly?" he demanded.
The ministers fearing for their lives, decided to bring other mirrors for the king to see himself. The more they tried the more they saw the same image. Out of panic they announced that any one who can come up with a solution will be a member of the royal ministers.
One day an old man walked up to gates of the palace to see the king. As he was asked for the solution the old man replied." Your honor those mirrors you are looking at are the "mirrors of lies" the " Mirror of Truth" is out there in the land on the royal hunting grounds but only the kin can find it before sun rise if you go looking for it for 90 days.
The king upset that no one had told him about this said," If don't find this mirror after 90 days I will behead you so no one ever lies again."
So the next day the king was out on the hunting grounds on foot looking for the Mirror of Truth... He searched and searched and could not find anything the first day. The next day again the sun came up and the king did not find the mirror of truth...
So every morning the king went out to look for the mirror, each day he would go further and further to find the mirror but there was no results. 90 days had gone by and the king had found no mirror, he now was furious at this point and was ready to kill the old man.
After day 90 the angry king summoned the old man to hang him for sending him out in the field in vain every morning and deprived him of royal sleeps. The old man appeared and asked the guards to bring a mirror. As the king looked at himself after his 90 Day Challenge he saw a new king the one from years ago, young looking, more energetic and handsome.
Then the old man spoke up in a confident voice," Your highness you have found the "Mirror of Truth." None of your ministers dared to tell you the truth. You were getting old, lazy and undisciplined. It was not the mirror but yourself, by you going out for 90 days out in the field before the sunrise and walking up and down mountains and hills you got your youth back, your body has lost fat and you have more energy. You have found "The Mirror of Truth".
The king honored to old man as the wisest man in the land, and made him the prime minister of the palace. And that is where the name ARIF comes from it derives from Arabic language and means the old wise man of the land.
After signing up for the challenge and working hard Paul Massahood wrote in and email to me,"
Hi Arif, Today I looked in the mirror and realized that it is a mirror of lies because the person I saw was not who I am, so I have decided to take the 90 day challenge as part of my quest to find the mirror of truth. Join me to find your mirror of truth today."
